I’ve finally done something that I have wanted to do for a very long time. I learned how to do wet felting. Hooray!
I took a class with Mel last week and I am indeed hooked. I hope to get to making more felt at home once I get all the bits I need. No it doesn’t require many things but I need to sort out my space so I can get started. I purchased a small bag of goodies from Mel so have the required wool and embellishment bits but I need to make sure I have a clear area to get started.
After watching Mel do the initial felting we were shown how to get started. The small mostly green and blue felt swatch is the very first piece I created. I was absolutely delighted with it.
The second piece I created was the larger mostly purple swatch with lots of embellishments including some prefelt, a piece of a previous item Mel had created, some silk bits, threads, etc and all of this was felted together. After working it through this is the final result.
The third piece is the small green bead which Mel started out for me and I finished the felting process. It really was just too exciting and I can’t wait to get started.
If you would like to have a go at this lovely craft you can contact Mel at firstname.lastname@example.org. Her class included the wool and embellishment bits. Go on give it a try.
All the very best.
